Green Ringer Clone

Now this in an interesting one. It has no controls at all.
Nice and simple, just the way I like it!

It’s sort of an octave up, ring modulator, weird noise thing.
Here is how it’s described on the Dan Armstrong website:

“…if a single note is played into the Ringer it will produce a second tone one octave above the original note. If two notes are played into it, it will produce sum and different tones just like a ring modulator. Depending on the musical interval between the two notes, the additional tones the Ringer produces will be harmonically related to the original notes (such as sub octaves) or dissonant…”

Soooo… this thing makes weird crazy semi-controllable noises?
Sounds awesome. I want one!

I found a layout at Sabro Tone (love that site!) here:

I substituted the 1N914’s for 1N4148‘s and the 2N5088’s for 2N4401‘s, but other than that, it’s exactly as it appears in the layout. This effect is heaps of fun and sounds great before a fuzz or an overdrive.

I built this pedal on the 12th of January, 2012.
